GTL arm acquires 100pc stake in SCS

Mumbai: GTL International, the wholly owned subsidiary of GTL, has purchased 100 per cent stake in Strategic Communication Services (SCS), a network deployment company in North America. The acquisition would beef up the services of network deployment, infrastructure management and project management services of GTL. This will allow accessing the key market i.e. the US, and will allow GTL to offer its comprehensive services to its service providers in the US. SCS hopes revenue of approximately $10 million for the financial year 2008.

SCS offers, network deployment services including site acquisition and collocation, project management and telecom infrastructure management services. The take over will also beef up services with leading telecom sectors such as Nokia Siemens Networks and Ericsson. SCS has long-term relationships with leading service providers in North America comprising Verizon, Sprint/Nextel, Cricket Communications and Mactec among others. In November, GTL has acquired a Malaysia-based network planning and optimisation company, ADA Cellworks, in an all-cash deal of $25 million.
