XL Telecom & Energy Ltd and Chinese firm LDK Solar Co Ltd have inked a five-year contract for supply of multi-crystalline solar wafers for consumption in the 120-MW per annum solar cell and panel manufacturing plant being set up by the former. Under the terms of pact, LDK Solar will deliver around 300 MW of multi-crystalline silicon solar wafers to XL Telecom commencing from the first quarter of 2009 up to 2013. With this, XL Telecom have finished the backward raw material requirement, which is a key component for solar cell and panel manufacture has been firmed up. LDK Solar said with this most recent supply contract with XL Telecom, we are not only looking forward to this continued engagement but also expanding presence in India. XL Telecom is in the process of setting up the facility in Rajiv Gandhi Nano Technology Park Special Economic Zone near here.
